{Wedding Trend} : Something Borrowed

Hello Today!
I have tons of projects going on right now. And I'm getting ready for family pictures this weekend. (YAY!!)

Something Borrowed. What a perfect tradition for me to talk about today. Hmm... I wonder why? .. Maybe because I have things for brides to borrow.
The meaning of this tradition is borrowing happiness from others.
Though I don't think that we need to go crazy like the movie and end up borrowed the groom as your own!
Not a good idea. :)

But I do have a couple good ideas that you can put into your wedding.

  • Borrow the Veil. I borrowed my mother's hat/veil for my wedding. (Unfortunately I don't have many pictures in it.)
  • The Dress. I love when the daughter wears the mothers dress. I know I want my daughter to wear mine, and if my mothers was modest and I was as tiny as she was. I definitely would have.
  • Jewelry. A pearl necklace from a grandma, or a bracelet from an aunt. This is something that is easy to borrow and simple to find.
  • The cake. You can't actually borrow a cake, but what you can do is borrow the design of your parents wedding cake, or someone elses.
  • Ring Bearer's Pillow. If you can try and borrow this as well from family.
  • A lucky penny. I have heard of brides putting a penny in their shoe on their wedding day and then lending them to their family or friends. This is a great idea for Something Borrowed because you are letting your friend borrow your happiness from your wedding day.
  • A bible. I am not expert on a traditional wedding, but if you can borrow someone's bible when the officiator reads from it, that would be a great idea too. Especially if you have an old family bible.
  • A vintage brooch to place in your wedding bouquet.
And of course! You can rent from the YELLOW DOOR boutique if you live in Rexburg, Idaho. We have tons of vintage decor, and wedding dresses for brides.

These were a few creative ideas that I had for you today. I hope that you enjoyed my ideas and that they helped you.

Thanks for stopping by,
Maryann
